MacBook Pro restarts when connected to external...

Hi all,

I have Mid-2013 MacBook Pro, Intel Core i7 (2.7GHZ) and 16GB RAM. My issue is whenever I connect to my Samsung 48" Smart TV, either using a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter or the HDMI port itself, go into Display preferences, the machine restarts itself for every time.

I did a bit of research, and I tried resetting my PRAM, and that didn't work.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.
