Forgot iPad password

I forgot the password to my iPad and it said to connect to iTunes. I have followed the recovery mode instruction but there's nothing appeared after the apple logo even I kept holding down the buttons.  Please help.

Does your computer's iTunes recognise the iPad when you connect the iPad to it, and it's when connected that you are trying to put it into recovery mode ? If it's not recognising it : If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

Do you have access to another computer that you could try it with ?
