Search for tags in Spotlight?

How come I can search using Tags in the Finder but not when trying to search using the new Spotlight in Yosemite?

Thank you.

You search it by typing tag:<tagname>

So I have a tag called "documentation" so I just type tag:documentation in the Spotlight field. Works great.

If you choose the "show all in finder" option you can see that it works fine.

Spotlight has a limited set of things it searches. A Tag isn't one of them.

You can see the things it can search for in the Spotlight System Preferences.

Awesome! Thanks so much!

So why doesn't this work for me? Has this functionality been pulled by Apple?

Right now I'm trying to search for files that contain one of two tags, like "A OR Y". I just don't find how to make this work.

tag:#CatsMeow OR tag:yellow

I have all of the categories checked in System Preferences : Spotlight : Search Results.

Do Tag:A OR Tag:Y

Thank you guys. However "tag:" doesn't work in german language settings. Here we'll have to do "kMDItemUserTags:X OR kMDItemUserTags:Y" to make this work. Strange.

Beautiful! Thanks so much! OSSierra 10.12.6 still needs this ugliness.
