itunes will not open

iTunes suddenly stopped working on my Win10 machine.  It recently updated to the newest version and now I get an error whenever I try to open it that ends with the code 0x0cb0000142.  Driving me nuts...  I'm actually trying to install an older version to see if that resolves the issue.
