iPad mail app very unstable and will not mainta...

My iPad 2 became very unstable so I performed a "Restore" via iTunes. All is now working well except the Mail app which will not hold a message open for no longer than a few seconds. I did a second restore action but the Mail app problem persists even after dragging the icon above and returning it below the icon screen.

Does anyone have a solution?
