How to add an Internet Radio stream to a perman...

How can I add an internet radio stream to a Playlist or my Music library ? Is it my imagination or has Apple removed that capability of adding any Internet Radio station stream to a Playlist, or even the Music library , in iTunes 12.x  ?  Or just buried the feature....???

As late as version 11, my favorited  web radio streams were accessible in the Playlists, right at the top where I wanted them . Been using those for years since version 7-ish.  Now it appears internet stream channels are not able to be placed in a Playlist in iTunes 12. I have to manually search and select for stations every time.  Who knows how to get around that ?

Apple must want us to use their own new Radio service  instead of all those web stations from around the planet . Honestly I have no need of iTunes Radio ( sorry , Tim)  and s-o-r-e-l-y  miss my catalog of favorite web stations , nicely grouped. It was shocked when those did not appear in the Library when I upgraded to iTunes 12 two weeks ago . I primarily use iTunes to listen to global radio, and play my ripped CD's in custom mixes and playlists. No videos, no TV, very very few purchases. iTunes is mostly superfluous to me beyond my own music library and global radio.

Sidenote: I really wish I had not upgraded to iTunes 12 at all, but see no way of going back to 11  in Mavericks ...  no Yosemite for me till they get the bugs squashed )  My gawd what an ugly dysfunctional interface in iTunes 12 ...

I had the same question, and I found this way.

1.

Make internet radio programs selected.

2.

File -> New -> Playlist from selection

Then, a new playlist contains the selected ones will be created.

3.

Once the new playlist is created, you can copy and paste them into other playlists.

It's even easer now.

1) Go to the internet radio stations page.

2) Click on and drag the desired station to page left.

3) The playlist sidebar opens.

4) Drop the station into the desired playlist.

Thank you so much for posting this. It driving me crazy this morning (I had accidentally deleted a station from my radio playlist and couldn't figure out how to get it back).

Hi.

I am trying to follow your solution but don't know how to drag the radio station page left.

Could you or anyone else help me understand this?

Many thanks.

Except that if you don't KNOW to do that how would you ever figure it out?  So no, it isn't easier.  I remember, oh 20 years ago, the joy of trying things on a Mac that seemed to make sense and almost always they worked that way.  Today, on iOS or Mac it's next to impossible to find out how to do things (especially with no real help system).  It reminds me of working on Windows for decades - it will probably do what I want, but finding out how is like pulling teeth.

I was going to say that I was trying to figure out how to bring up my sidebar b/c maybe I could just drag the station in.  But there is NOTHING obvious about how to make it visible when in the internet radio stations window. ugh.
