Why cant I add US Holidays to the iOS 7 Calendar?
Had US Holidays on iOS 6, once I upgraded theyre gone, and it will not let me add a calendar.
Try doing it this way:
- Tap Settings
- Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Scroll down and tap Add Account...
- Tap Other
- Tap Add Subscribed Calendar
- In the server field, input: ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics - then tap Next
- On the next screen, change the name of the calendar under "Description" if you choose - then tap Save
"Cannot Connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?"
What happens when you try to set it up without SSL at this prompt?
Try subscribing to this calendar instead:
files.apple.com/calendars/US32Holidays.ics
With no SSL
It worked for me!
In the Notes Ap type webcal://.ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics. Then close Note and it becomes a clickable link. Click it and all the US holidays come back to your calendar.
Wow. I copied & pasted your link into my Safari browser, hit "done", and all holidays were updated! It took all of 30 seconds' including checking my calendar to make sure it worked. Thanks for the tip!
I had the same problem, with IOS 6 and IOS 7. Are you using Outlook on a PC? If so I will assume you had it setup before, since you said it was working before the update. If so go to the iCloud program on your PC and open it, uncheck the box for calendar, click apply wait a few seconds and then go back and recheck the box and click apply. a thing should come up saying syning or something like that. after it's done, restart your iPhone or iPad and the US holidays should be back on your iPhone calendar. If not wait a few seconds and start scrolling thru the months, up and down you should start seeing the holidays showing up
This worked for me.
use ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics as the subscribed calendar
Under the settings for that calendar there should be a slider for "USE SSL" turn that off.
It didn't work for me, Because when Apple came out with the IOS 7 it deleted it. But if you go up 2 post, I found a fix for the problem....
Thank you! That did it for me.
just go to apple.com/downloads.macosx.calendars.usholidaycalendar.html
Then hit download and you'll have them.
Tried all these suggestions, which worked on iPhone and iPad; however on MacBook, only choice is to install on iCal, which is not the iCloud calendar (and I dont use).
Just cant find the final trick to install on iCloud on my MacBook (no options/drop-down for that provided) - any help greatly appreciated!
Thank Youuuuuuu! Worked for me!
If you turn on US Holidays in Calendar on Mavericks it doesn't sync, but you can see the URL it uses to add the calendar:
https://p13-calendars.icloud.com/holiday/US_en.ics
I pasted that in on iphone for step 6 in instructions from randers4 and it worked for me. Including the SSL part.
