mute button on the iPad pro

is there not a mute button on the iPad pro 9.7 2016?

The side switch didn't mute music or videos either. When watching a video or listening to music hold the volume down button until Mute appears on the screen.

The mute button only works on the system sounds.

Yes, it's on the Control Center. The side switch was removed on the iPad Air 2.

Now I can only turn volume down to zero on my iPad Pro ios11, there is no appearance of mute whatsoever. I still get system sounds such as keyboard clicks.

Why change an operating system to remove features? I don’t get it. It was working fine before.
