Password verification code not showing up for i...
Heya,
I have the same problem as Jason from May this year.
Verification Code Window not showing up for iMessage
I'm on a work computer (iMac mid-2010) running Mavericks 10.9.5, and I unfortunately don't have a say in updating the OS.
When setting up my iCloud on the computer:
- I click on "Enter password..."
- I enter my password to get my verification code
- Verification code is sent to my iPhone
- Box appears in System Prefs that says "Type in your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices" and an 'OK' button.
- I press 'OK', expecting a typing field to then pop up.
It doesn't.
There's nowhere to type in my password followed by the verification code. System prefs simply continues to say "Type in your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices".
I've tried going back out of System Prefs, then back in and instead of just typing my password, I try the password + verification code - but this doesn't work either. I've also tried restarting.
Does anyone have any ideas? I followed the above link's "solution" but this doesn't work for me. Please, help!
Thanks!
There is no where in the original box to type in the password+verification code?
Nowhere at all, no.
It feels as though a box should pop up, but after hitting 'OK', that box just disappears, leaving you with the System Prefs box again.
password + verification code worked for me. very frustrating system.....
I have this problem too - I'm trying to purchase through the app store but there is nowhere to enter the verification code
I am also looking for the right answer.
Passcode plus code also worked for me. Would have never figured that out without this thread. Thanks Andrew
same here... trying this thread too since it's more-recently active... if you type pw+code in the initial box, it fails the password. so you type the proper password and it triggers a code sent to my ios device, then tells you to enter the pw+code without providing a place in which to enter that code! supremely frustrating to say the least!
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
Try an app specific password. You need OSX 10.11 or better for native verification code support.
Using app-specific passwords - Apple Support
I had this same problem and this worked!
After you close the notification window that you need to verify, it will go back to where you have your UN and Password entered, enter the verification after your password in the password field. Password123456. Enter. That should do it! Let me know and good luck!
