Record iPad & iPhone screen

How do I record my iPad screen? I don’t see the record button when I pull up the control screen from the bottom.

What iPad and iOS are you using?

Your signatures states you are using an iPad 2 which can't be upgraded past iOS 9.3.5 and has NO screen record abilities.
