How can I delete my credit card from my phone

I am trying to remove my credit card from my phone and it will not even let me update until I remove the card

with non as method of payment you can't download apps or update apps though

Ok my daughter don't have a card on her phone and she can update her phone and her apps without a card so I know I should be able to update my apps and phone without a card!! It used to be a way I can delete it and I need to find that way out
