iMac will not wake up from sleep mode

I left my iMac (version late 2013) in sleep mode, and it would not wake up.  I forced a quit, and it came back up.  I worked for an hour, and it went back into sleep mode, but this time it would not wake up.  I thought it was the power cord, so I bought a new one; it worked again, until it went into sleep mode.  Now it won't wake up at all... help.  It is only three years old and out of warranty. 

Reset the SMC again, as per > Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

and try zapping the NVRAM at startup, as per > How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

If it will not startup, try Safe Mode as per > Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

If that gets you nowhere, move on to > If your Mac won't turn on - Apple Support

Then if it still will not budge, you need to make a service appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP.

We purchased our computer in February 2016. In July 2017 we started having sleep issues. took computer in for other issues that were fixed. However the sleep issue is still happening. Do hope there will be a fix of this issue with new update of the operating system.
