MBP Pro 2015 or Air 2017?

To cut a long story short, we've got £850 worth of Currys vouchers from the insurance company to replace my wife's 2015 13" MacBook Air.  As a result, we're stuck buying from there.

At the moment, they have the 2017 13" MacBook Air with the i5 1.8 processor and 128GB for £849, which is an upgrade from what she had, but barely so really.

They also have the 13" MBP, albeit the 2015 model , available for £100 more.  My gut feeling is to go with the Pro as it's a bit more powerful and has the Retina screen.  That said, it's not the newest model - link below

Would I be hampering her by picking a more powerful, but older computer or would we do better with the newer Air?  She doesn't do much beyond a bit of browsing, emailing and watching Netflix etc.  Every so often I'd take it to work for a bit of light gaming which is also steering me towards the Pro.

Any thoughts/insights about whether I'm making a huge mistake would be appreciated.  Thanks a lot
