Problem Logging into Outlook Email

I am not sure this is the correct forum, but I have a new mac book pro (Summer 2017) with OS Sierra 10.12.6.

I am trying to log into my old hotmail email and keep getting a flashing screen once I am into the account.  Sometimes I simply can't log in. It keeps rejecting my inputting my password. Never had this problem until this week. Wondered if it has something to do with this new operating system. Same problem on firefox (latest version) and safari. Any ideas are appreciated.
