Hello. I bought a MacBook pro 2015 edition couple of months ago. My keyboard just stopped working next to my mouse pad. It works with external keyboard and external mouse, but that is not really the solution. When I turned it off and on again, my screen turned gray and language bar showed up. Also, the only working button is the power button. If someone knows what could the problem be and how to solve it, please let me know. 

Unfortunately, chances are pretty good that you bought a defective MacBook Pro. Did you buy it used from Apple or from another source?

 

Regardless, you do have a few options to try before I suggest that you either take it to a Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or attempt to get a refund.

 

Try both of the following. After each, try using your MacBook Pro to see if the issue is resolved. Please post back your results one way or the other.

I actually bought it in bestbuy. Thank you very much for your answer, but unfortunately neither have worked.

 

The NVPRAM one didn't even recognise that I'm holding those keys and just turned on without the restarting as it mentioned it should.

 

The other one didn't do basically anything; I pressed the keys I was supposed to but it didn't react and after turning it on, nothing changed.

 

A few days ago I did the NVPRAM one and it helped but today it justed stoped working.

Have you also tried doing those using the external keyboard? If not, you should give it a try. The SMC one would be more important of the two to try.
