MacOS Sierra startup progress bar stucks
Hello, I have a problem with my MacBook Pro (15" - Mid 2015): on startup, after the login window, the progress bar is very slow and when it is at 100% macOS Sierra does not start. This happens with all the users. I've tried with boot in safe mode but it doesn't work. On the last shutdown I have no problem. How can I resolve?
Thank you.
Please try this, if you have not already.
Go step by step and test.
1. Repair Disk. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22243?locale=en_US
2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18761
3. Reset SMC. Choose the method for “On Mac notebooks with non-removable battery”.

If this doesn’t help, please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open, select”Open” in the dialog to run it.
Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste it when you reply.
Startup – Computer Stops or Delays
Booting in verbose mode the system stop after:
'busy timeout [x] (60s) kextd wait(1):' some strange characters.
Reading on the internet I found that the problem may be a non-compatible driver installed in the system. Before the last shutdown I have installed a driver for a FTDI usb-serial adaptor. But from the terminal (recovery mode) I can't see this driver (.kext folder) in /System/Library/Extension. So how can I remove it? Is there a way to boot from USB drive and save all my files (I have the filesystem crypted with FileVault)?
Thank you.
If you have access to another Mac, sign into the App Store using your Apple ID, and download a copy of Sierra. Quit the installer. You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program which will do all the work for you.
Bootable USB Flash Drive – Diskmaker X or use Apple’s method Create a bootable installer for OS
I had exactly the same problem, After doing some research i think it's pretty clear this causes because of newly installed kernel extension(.kext file).
My solution was just renaming the Extensions folder in the "/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/" to something else(i renamed it into "ExtensionsDisabled"). Inside this folder i noticed there are few kext files and all are not essential to run the main system. So i safely renamed it. And Voila!!! it worked!!!
Although i won't bother about the disabled extensions for the moment.
