can i store on icloud from family sharing?

can i store on the cloud from my child's phone through family sharing or do i need to buy more space on the cloud?

iCloud storage is not currently sharable with Family Sharing but the larger storage plans will be sharable with the next major release of MacOS and iOS expected this Fall. See the following from macOS High Sierra Preview - Apple

Now you can share an iCloud storage plan with your entire family. Choose 200GB or 2TB and give everyone enough space to store photos, videos, documents, and more.

Why does your site say shared storage is now available if that is not yet the case?!

I upgraded to the 2TB plan today, planning to share the storage with my wife between our iPhones and a home PC, and have been battling getting that set up all afternoon today with no luck. Is this really still not possible? If so, I would say this is very misleading advertising.

You are not addressing Apple here, this is a user to user support forum. I'm not sure where you are seeing this information about shared storage, as the information that FoxFifth provided is correct, that it will change when iOS 11 is released. If you provide a link, we can share that with the hosts for clarification.
