Early 2009 24" iMac hard drive died. Replace wi...

Trying to get a few more years out of my trusty desktop. (2.93GHZ/8GB/640GB) I really don't know much about this stuff but feel confident that I can do the install myself. Just wondering which option to go for - SSHD or SSD? Cost is an issue, as I can't spend too too much, but feel that this machine could have a couple more good years.

I've used up about 550GB in my (not very efficiently organized) computer. Do I need to go with 1TB? What are the positives and negatives of each option?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

A 1TB SSD is around $300. If you don't wish to spend that much then you could look into an SSHD or an HDD. Try OWC for all three types of drives.
