Malfunction Finder and Web browser

My mac works like usual at the first 15 mins when I turned on, excerpt it loads some startup apps like dropbox, google drive, and also the spotlight index abnormally slower.

I have the following problem after 15 mins:

1) Cannot delete file

2) Cannot empty trash (it gives error code -50)

3) Cannot copy file to other folder

4) Cannot use chrome - I have opened the 'Force quit' box, the chrome app was shown briefly then disappear at the force quit box, and Chrome did not launch even after repeated click

5) Cannot open Firefox - was shown "Close Firefox -- A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time" (I do not have another copy of Firefox)

While having these problem, I can use and open other files and programme, watch video normally, but cannot save files. I can also open Safari, but cannot google and cannot open many websites. It seems online is OK cause the dropbox appears to be linking.

I sometimes have the startup freezes at the white apple sign and does not load further. It also pauses at some point when I click restart or shut down sometimes.

I was guessing there is problem with the finder, but no error message come out about the finder, nor the finder is shown 'not responding' on the force quit box.

Another guess is I have the CleanMyMac 3 app cleaning the computer files but it was force quitted before.

Using an old OS 10.8.4, cannot update cause some other apps wont work with newer OS. (Guess old OS isnt the cause)

Anyone have that experience or know what's wrong and what to do? It looks like virus attack for me.. not sure..
