Not getting any assistance from apple genius pe...

My daughter recently dropped her iPad Air 2 and cracked the iPad screen, she uses iPad for school homework . In fact her whole school required all students to have an iPad. We spent nearly AUD900 to get her the iPad.

i was not comfortable for her to use her cracked screen iPad, so decided to seek help from Apple Store. First visit there I was told apple doesn't do any repair and was given and option for an exchange the iPad. After discussion with my husband, we've  decided to get it exchange with the same model by paying AUD430. Second visit to Apple Store we were told that Apple will not assist us with transferring all her files from the broken ipad to the new iPad.

Question, with a very minimum knowledge about technology, why can't Apple genius assist us with it?

Considering my family members all uses product from Apple, we left the apple Store dissapointed and helpless.



It has always been Apple‘s Policy that they assume no responsibility for peoples data (see iPad Service Answer Center - Apple Support).  Replacement devices arrive in a state just like a new device and you set it up and transfer your data just as you would if buying a new device. 

 

You should be backing up to iCloud or iTunes (or both) - How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

 

If you can, just make a backup before exchanging. Then restore the backup to the new unit once you get it - Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
