Pair airpod with ipad mini 2
My new airpods don't seem to pair with my iPad mini 2. The apple Web site says they are compatible. The airpods seem to pair with iPhone 5se and my imac. Am I missing something? There doesn't seem to be much help online.
Greetings, MDC59.
I see that your AirPods will pair with your iPhone SE and your iMac, but not with your iPad mini 2. I'm happy to help.
Use your AirPods -- Make sure your iPad mini 2 is up-to-date.
Before you begin
You need at least one of these:
- iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 10.2 or later
- Apple Watch with watchOS 3 or later
- Mac with macOS Sierra or later
If you can‘t connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- If the iOS on your iPad is up-to-date, follow the steps provided in this support article.
Take care!
Still won't pair with iPad mini 2. I've tried the procedure below and have disconnected all other Bluetooth devices..when I hold the setup button for more than 15 seconds, the light on AirPod case flashes red a couple of times then goes back to flashing white and still doesn't connect. What next?
If you can't set up your AirPods
If you don't see the setup animation when you try to set up your AirPods with your iPhone, follow these steps. After each step, try to set up your AirPods again.
- Make sure that your AirPods are charged.
- Close the lid, wait 15 seconds, then open the lid. The status light should flash white.
- If the status light doesn't flash white, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until you see the status light flash white.
- Still can't set up your AirPods? Press and hold the setup button for at least 15 seconds, until you see the status light flash amber a few times and then flash white.
If you have the same Apple ID iCloud account on all devices, you don't need to pair each device. iCloud takes care of syncing the pairing across all your devices. You do need to have iOS 10.2 installed on your iPad mini. Double-check in Settings > General > About.
To change which device send sound to the AirPods, turn Bluetooth on, then use Control Center, music pane, to select the source device.
I'm having the same issue. All devices are updated and all are logged into the same iCloud account. The setup on my iPhone was smooth as well as my Mac, but it is not working on my iPad Mini 2. I've restarted the device twice. I've reset the Airpods once and re-paird to my iPhone and Mac -- all again without issue, and it still won't connect to the iPad. Any ideas?
I had the same problem. I turned off my bluetooth on my iPhone and Mac. Then did the reset - then go into settings - bluetooth. And it found the Airpods.
