No device available for listening to audiobooks...

Is there anyone else out there who finds it odd that Apple does not have a device that is small enough to run with that allows you to listen to an audiobook?? I am an avid runner but I do not listen to music when I run or exercise. I listen to audiobooks. For me, they are much more distracting than music. I have been using an iPod Nano for the last couple years and have gone through a few versions. They work great because they are small enough to throw in my pocket while not being awkward or cumbersome while running down the road. My issue is that Apple recently announced that is would be doing away with the iPod Nano in favor of the iPod Touch and Apple Watch. However, the iPod Touch is too large to stick in my pocket and go for a run. For those of you who have tried you know what I mean....it's essentially like having a phone in your pocket. The Apple Watch allows you to sync playlists of music and will soon allow you to stream music from Apple Music but there is no solution for audiobooks. I know I am not the only person who is into audiobooks as it is a growing industry and form of entertainment.

Apple - super surprised that you now offer no way to listen to an audiobook on a device small enough to exercise/run with. Doesn't make any sense. I can understand eliminating the iPod Nano but why not introduce the Apple Watch as the replacement by allowing it double as an iPod. Throw a couple gigs of memory on there and VIOLA...you have just made a device that can now be used on its own. I am literally blown away that this was not part of the announcement when Apple Watch Series 3 was announced earlier this month. I thought that was the whole reason you were discontinuing the iPod Nano.
