problem with my processor

for a week now my macbook pro became suddenly extremely slow, so I tried to update it but it kept failing then I deleted and reinstalled the system it was normal-not fast- for a day then back to being slow again. I asked my friend and she mentioned that this problem is connected to the processor and it might need to be changed. my macbook processor is 2.4 GHz intel core i5, is the slow performance really all connected to my processor? is it fixable or should I replace it? and what kind or processors would work for my laptop? and how much would it cost?

There are many causes of a slow Mac, and troubleshooting is needed to discover whether it's hardware or software. The processor itself is soldered onto the logic board and is not replaceable; the repair for that is to replace the logic board, very expensive.
