icloud backup to a smaller iphone

Help.  My wife has an iphone 6s with 64 GB of memory.  It has water damage, but we were able to back it up to icloud before it died.

She still has her old iphone 5s with 16 GB of memory, and I was wondering what needs to be done to restore from the icloud back up when the contents in there are greater that the memory in her phone.

The iPhone 5s does not have enough space to handle the larger backup. You cannot put 64 gb worth of stuff in a 16 gb space.

Or as Dolly Parton used to say, 'You can't put ten pounds of mud in a 5 pound sack.'

I already knew that it was too large.

Is there any way to do a select what data is downloaded from the iCloud backup so that it could fit into 16 GB
