Preview crashes when using word search
Hi all,
I've seen this question come up for a previous OS version but not found a solution to the latest one:
I am using Preview as my standard PDF viewer and up until recently I haven't had this issue.
I am now on macOS Sierra Version 10.12.6 (16G29) and whenever I open a large PDF file (e.g. 50 pages) and type in a word in the Find bar, Preview stops responding completely. Then, whenever I close the app through Activity Monitor and reopen it, it just picks up where it left off and crashes again.
I've found a way to at least "unfreeze" the program by deleting the com.apple.Preview folder in another answer, but it still doesn't solve the initial problem: I want to use word search in Preview.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!
