iTunes smartlist does not appear on iPhone 7S

My apologies but I have searched forums but cannot find this answer. Please direct me if it has already been answered. I have created a new Smartlist in iTunes. I have synced my iPhone 7S and the Smartlist does not appear. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have unchecked live updating on the smartlist but that did not help.
