Screen rotation glitches with IOS 11

The main IOS 11 glitch that I've found is on my Ipad Air.  This involves screen rotation problems:

  1. If I restart the Ipad in a different orientation to tha which I closed it, the screen does not auto-rotate.  Either at the lock-screen/enter passcode step, or after inputing the pass code.  No maount of shaking or tilting the Ipad will induce the screen to auto-rotate to correct orientation.  This was never a problem prior to IOS 11.
  2. Ocassionally, when flipping from one home screen to another, the screen orientation inverts (upside down!).  Again, no amount of tiliting will get it back to to correct orientation.

Only way to deal with the above issues is turn the device around in my hands.  Stupid!

 

Otherwise, the IOS 11 update has mostly gone smoothly on all devices (the Air, Ipad Mini 2 and Iphone 7).

Occasional app closing animation glitches/lag on the Ipads.  The inital start up was very slow on the Mini, but now settled down to being correct.
