extron smp 351 HDCP issue

We have a system that is connected to a Crestron switch, works fine.  We can display the computers desktop and play video and audio on the projector.  But from the Crestron is connected an Extron SMP 351 is a streaming & recording device.  When HDCP is disabled in the device it goes green on the screen.  When that is undone, we get a black screen, no content, no desktop(Mirrored).   The computer is a Mac on sierra.  I have not seen this before.
