iTunes 12 playlist pop up menu missing "update ...

I installed the latest iTunes 12 this week. I have many smart playlists that pick new songs once they've been played. Through the last several generations of iTunes I've used the playlist pop up menu and selected Update Playlist to get the new songs. That option is gone now. Can I get it back? Or is there a quicker workaround than choosing Edit Playlist and then clicking OK in the dialogue box? This method involves more clicks than the old method, and opens the dialogue box when I'm not meaning to make changes, so it isn't necessary.
