Synch to iPAD iOS 11 and iTunes 12.7 on MAC

I added some new imported music to my iTunes (version 12.7)  Library this morning, then attempted to synch my iPad (running iOS 11). Even though I have iTunes set to manually manage my music, only synch selected, etc. when I look at my iPad it only shows purchased music - which should not even be on the iPad. I see a few playlists, certainly not all I have selected to synch, but they are all empty.

Have the settings or something changed that mean I need ot select some other option to manage the music on my IOS devices with iTunes 12.7?
