Ios11 issue with Apple Smart Keyboard

Since updating to ios11 I have had issues with the apple Smart Keyboard. At various times it doesn’t appear to connect and i am unable to type. Even when I disconnect it and reattach its doesn’t seem to work. I use it quite often with the HDMI connector and this is when i notice it the most,  but wouldn’t have thought it would have caused the issue. Anyone suggestions?
