Blank screen on Mac Pro 2013 boot

Hello All,

I have a late Mac Pro 2013 (trash can version). It's been working great for a year or so now – but last night started to give me some problems.

After finishing running Windows 10 in Boot Camp, I reset the computer and a blank screen came up.

I waited a few minutes then powered off and back on again. Nothing. Get boot chime and nothing else.

The screen is telling me there is no video input. I tried using different video ports on Mac Pro – no joy.

I tried resetting the PRAM – but the unit won't reset. Won't recognize the keyboard (USB).

I removed all external hardware expect the power and display – still no joy.

I turned everything off and let it cool over night – no joy when trying to boot this morning.

Any ideas on what I can try next?

restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the display resolution to defaults.

If starting in safe mode doesn't resolve the issue, reset your Mac's NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their defaults.

So I took my Mac Pro back to Apple for review. They reset the NVRAM and SMC and ran it through a few days of testing and everything was fine. Apple were great to sort this out for me.

After about 6 months of perfect operation - my problems has come back.

I've tried resetting the SMC - didn't fix problem.

I have a non-Apple keyboard (both USB and wireless versions) and can't seem to reset the NVRAM. Do I need a genuine Apple keyboard (USB version) to make this work?
