compatible office with sierra

I have sierra 10.12.6 installed on my Macbook Pro. Is there any verision of Office for Mac that is compatible? I was planning on upgrading to 365 but have heard Microsoft isn't committing to it working.

We currwntly have office 2011 and it is slow, locking and crashing. Since it is not being supported after October i dont mind buying a newer version but only if i know it will work.
