Lost stole help

I have an iPad. I did not put on the find my iPad mode. It was stole from my work. With my password. I have my iPad serial number though will that help me find it

If you did not activate Find My iPad on the device, then there is no way for it to be tracked. Report the theft to your employer and the police. That is the best that you can do. The serial number can do nothing except to identify your device if it is recovered by police.
