Internal SuperDrive Problems

My iMac superdrive ejects certain DVD's without reading them.

I purchased a 6 disk training program.  I inserted the first DVD and it played properly.  I dumped the files from this disk onto my desktop so I could load the training material on to my iPad.  I checked the data on the desktop to insure it would open properly.  It did.  Now the problems started.  None of the 6 disks will open now.  I can take the disks to my wife's iMac and they will open properly.  I tried other DVD's in my iMac and they opened properly.

Have I caused the training program to become unreadable on my iMac by dumping the data from the first disk onto my desktop? Is this a copyright protection function I'm dealing with?
