Updated to high sierra due to safari not workin...

Was forced Updated to high sierra due to safari not working now programs loaded on to imac are not working or opening now

If I downgraded back to sierra via a boot up drive will the program still be on the imac or will it be deleted?

It was put on via a cd not a download and don't have access to the cd at present
