Keyboard keys not working after install new OS ...

I just install a new one copy of Mac OS Sierra, but after that my keyboard keys are not working properly like some keys are not even working at all. What I can do to resolve this problem and also if there is any software I can use to test keyboard keys working  properly or not

See if you have mouse keys enabled. Other users have reported this after updating to Sierra

OS X: Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled - Apple Support

I'm having this same issue. It appears to be the following keys that stop working:

r

t

y

u

All on the top row and next to each other. Then after maybe 30 seconds, they start working again. I didn't have Mouse Keys enabled. I've enabled and disabled but still seeming to have the issue.

I have the same problem! Sometimes those keys are not working at all, but after 5 seconds are working again.

No mouse, Macbook Air 2011 with MacOs Sierra.

I have the same issue on macbook pro following Sierra install

These keys no longer work:   7 8 9 y u i o j k l n m n

The suggestions provided have no effect

Extremely dissatisfied!

I have the same problem on my MacBook Pro 2011 after updating to sierra 10.12.3. Some keys (rows) on internal keyboard are not working.  4 r f v or Left CMD and other combinations.

The problem occurs and resolves itself randomly. I'm sure that it is a software bug because everything was OK on previous version of Sierra.

I checked all the accessibility settings however all checkboxes are off and I never used it. External keyboard works correctly.  Is there a fix for this annoying bug?

I have excactly the same problems but I have found no solution. Macbook pro 2011.

I also have a Mac Book Pro late 2011. I have the same problem, but the keys not working are 1 to 9. I have confirmed that I do not have any Mouse Keys enabled, nor the Slow Response, nor any accessibility features. I also have found out that they start working if I insist, sometimes after  5 seconds, sometimes after 30, sometimes after pressing the key more than 30 times.

I am also frustrated. I have to use the screen keyboard to type those numbers.

I have the same problem, and I've had it for a long time. For a period right after installing macOS Sierra the problem went away completely, but it has come back over the last months or so and seems worse than ever (when I installed Sierra a completely fresh install, manually copying files over and re-configuring all apps).

My "e" key is constantly partly working, sometimes it will register the hit but I estimate than more than half the time it doesn't and it's slowing my typing down so hard that I can barely focus on working.

Other keys such as "p", "ENTER" stops working randomly for a period of 1 to 10 mins where I can maybe sneak a "p" out if I insist and keep hitting the key and then later on "p" works constantly. "e" is on the other hand constantly unstable but it didn't use the be like that even when I had the problem prior to Sierra. Back then it was only "p" and other keys that was creating problems randomly.

I have done extensive "research" on this keyboard issue over more than a year and have never found any solution. I've reset "pram" and done pretty much anything possible I could think of or found in other threads around the web. Accessibility features are disabled and playing around with the settings does not change anything.

Did anybody make any kind of progress on this issue? I am considering to do a fresh re-install, but being a power user and developer, a re-install is days of setting up apps and dev tools and I'm not sure it will help anything.

I had exactly the same problem after I installed Sierra 10.12.5.

Very frustrating.

I'm having the same problem with my MacBook Pro (Early 2011). My right and down arrow keys are not working and I've made sure slow keys and mouse keys are turned off.

Anyone find a solution to this yet?
