How do I reset my Ipad with out a computer

How do I reset my Ipad without a computer?

A reset is done by holding the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time.

What I think you are talking about is a restore and this is only done with iTunes on a computer but if you are just wanting to erase everything off the device you can go to settings>general>reset>erase all content and settings.

Reading into your question, I think that you want to erase the iPad so that you can unlock it. Perhaps you forgot the passcode?????

If you don't have access to a computer

If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.

No my ipad is disabled from trying passcode to many times. I have not synched it with a computer and I tried holding down sleep/wake and home button and it did not work. ipad is still locked and disabled.

madison ..... Read my answer above.

Like Madison I read your post above.  In the online support instructions for that link "If you don't have access to a computer" it tells you to connect it to a computer.  The problem is there is no computer to connect it to. I'm having the same issue with my Mother's Ipad (she has no computer).  She was locked out due to incorrectly entering the passcode and I have no way to reset it.  Is there a way to reset an Ipad that only displays the cable, an arrow and the itunes logo without connecting it to a computer.  The link in the support page tells you to connect it to a computer even though the title is "if you don't have access to a computer"

It also talks about using Find My iPad and iCloud to erase the device. You need a computer or another iOS device with the Find My iPad app installed on it.

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.

You can reset it from your computer if she was using Find My iPhone on her iPad, You will have to log into her iCloud.com account so you will need to know her Apple ID and password. You can also do this from an iPhone or an iPod Touch that has Find My iPhone installed on it.

Unfortunately I have the Ipad at my house and she has never been on my wifi network.  Can't get into the ipad to connect to my network.

I have her account information but without the ipad connecting to the Internet that just won't work.  I tried connecting it to my IMAC while holding down the home button but it will not mount and still just has the icons to connect it to itunes.  Closest Apple store is a significant distance away so that may not be an option either.

appreciate the effort you are putting in to the responses but I'm thinking Apple may have designed those without prolific computer access into a corner.

I was just resetting my ipad mini when it says that I have to log into my Apple ID which I did and It keeps saying its the wrong  account  and I tried to delete my account on find my ipad but it says that I haven't got one so I don't know how that works out help please!!!!

To deal with an iPhone with a forgotten passcode? That seems unnecessary. All they will do is tell the user to do what has already been explained in this thread.

I don't see any answer to his question and I have the same problem. I have a brand new iPad 2 I bought for my husband. He started to add his information and he forgot his passcode. Now we can't do anything about it. I own a mac and have and iPhone but they have nothing to do with his brand new iPad that started at Factory settings. He doesn't have a computer and my computer doesn't have a lightening connection. What are we supposed to do. I do know how to set it to factory settings if he could remember his passcode.

No computer has a lightning connection. The cable that comes with an iPad is lighting to USB. It will work on any Mac made in recent years. The fact that he has never connected his iPad to your computer simply means he will need to restore his iPad as new using iTunes on your computer. Here are the instructions (which were easily findable by typing "forgot iPad password" into Google):
