Can dock be hidden IOs 11

I've been looking and can't find where I can get rid of the dock at the bottom of the Ipad in IOs 11? I figured out how to get rid of apps, but not the whole thing. It might be nice, but it's not very hard for me to go back to the screen and go to another app...so I don't see the value in having it up. Or if you can't get rid of it, can you at least make it transparent?

Hi Icechips. The dock on the Home screen is basically unchanged since iOS 9, except for the added suggested apps at the right. Removing it has not been an option, and that's unlikely to change. And it only appears in apps if you swipe up from the bottom. I actually find it handy for switching apps, just swipe up and tap.

Thanks for the answer. You think if they give us something that they think everyone wants they'd give us a way to undo it ... but I'm probably the only person that will post that they don't want the dock. The least they can do is make it transparent.
