Caps is on when green light is not

So I've realized this twice when I go to type in my password for my MacBook, it shows on the password blank that its on and when I turn it on the green light shows up saying its on but on the blank the cap icon goes away like the function switched??? my MacBook is also new, about 2 months old now I think ALSO it doesn't mess up when I log in, only when I type in my password?
