iMac Late 2012 Random Shutdowns

Hi all.

I've searched these support forums and googled but haven't really been able to find a solution to the problem I am experiencing.

Several months back my iMac was shutting down, seemingly randomly. This particulate iMac had an historical issue of a faulty hard disk on the 3TB hard disk model. I had it changed by Apple. Things seemed to improve for a month or two. Now, the iMac is again shutting down in what seems a completely random manner. I've carried out the advice on the SMC and PRAM to the best of may ability without any improvement. Shutdowns can happen even as the machine is booting back up from the last shutdown - there really doesn't seem to be any particular trigger.

I'm running the OSX Sierra 10.12.6.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Does your Mac get hot before shutdown?

if so it is might be a fan sensor issue bring the mac to apple and they will fix it for you or download Macs fan control and turn your fan speed up

Not that I know of - is there a way I could find out without the obvious of keep touching the back of it, etc? I'll do that though to check from now on.

Cheers. I've downloaded that program and turned up the speed. Will see what happens.
