Why is it that every few years my Apple product...

I have had an iPad for quite some time. And now my second I pad has some antenna issue. I've lost my job of 13 years and can't afford to replace it. My first one was a mini that the port went bad on. And now this one has an internal issue and all Apple will offer is a replacement for $199. That's just a new one. I'm upset but I would never yell at another human being who is just doing what they are told to do. It just seems like there should be a better product that won't just die in three years. Especially since I haven't dropped or gotten it wet or caused any damage to the product.
