How can I recover 400+ GB of lost storage?

Earlier today I tried to reset my iMac to factory default. I went into recovery mode, and erased my BOOTCAMP partition first, then the Macintosh HD partition, then reinstalled macOS Sierra. I thought that this would give the 400 GBs of storage back to the new Macintosh HD partition, but it didn’t, and I cannot find the lost storage anywhere. I’ve already went into recovery mode and looked all through Disk Utility for it, but am just not finding it. Help would be much appreciated.
