MP3 to FLAC converter for Mac OS

I have an Apple Mac running OS Sierra 10.12.6 and would like to know:

(a) How to convert MP3 music files stored on my Apple to FLAC files, and

(b) Will I then be able to load them onto a SD card so that I can play them through my new Mechless car audio system?

I suppose that I will require a software application installed into my Mac in order to do this, and will be grateful for advice as to which one would be the most suitable.
