IMAP and POP not working for Mail

I just got my first Mac intended for uni studies and work, and I'm trying to connect all of my emails which worked until I got to my outlook/hotmail one. I'm using @hotmail.se and I've tried to use the Exchange option as well as the "other email" option, IMAP, and POP... but nothing has worked. It always shows me the "Unable to verify account name or password." text.

And before I get yelled at, yes I have tried looking around in the forum, I've re-done this process using several forum posts and other internet entries as guides but still no luck.

Now I'm just lost on what to do.

Outlook has a web interface, log in there to verify your username/password combination, if it doesn't work you have found the problem. If it does work then another setting is incorrect, check all options for accuracy.

My email and its password are correct and I've double checked everything always, both copy pasted and written in the incoming and outgoing.

Checked everything?

What exactly is 'everything'

Just as mentioned in the previous post: the IMAP settings such as incoming and outgoing mail servers, as well as my email and the password. I ended up using a secondary email which I will use for the laptop instead of the main one. Thank you for your help!

Same , here, on my phones all is working on high sierra it doesn't.

Crazy mail should work flawless,
smells like big company's forcing people to go to big mail providers.
