My new photo albums will not sync from my compu...

Since some update in the past 6 months I have been unable to add new photo albums to my phone that I create in Photo on my desktop. I do not use icloud for photos everything moves between my phone and desktop. The existing albums will update with changes but I can't add new albums. What is wrong?

Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. After reading your post, I understand that you are unable to sync new albums from your Mac to your iPhone using iTunes. Existing albums will update with changes, but new albums do not sync. I would be happy to help!


What I would recommend to start is turning the Photos sync off in iTunes on your computer, then turning it back on. You'll turn off the sync first by connecting your iPhone to the computer with its USB cable, then selecting the iPhone icon in the upper left of iTunes. Click the Pictures option from the sidebar on the left of iTunes, then uncheck the "Sync Photos" box at the top of the next screen. Finally, click the "Apply" button in the lower right, and allow your iPhone to sync with iTunes.

This will remove all your synced photos and albums from the iPhone, so the next thing we want to do is to turn that sync back on. Once you have turned the sync back on, eject your iPhone and create a new album in Photos. Then, reconnect your iPhone, add the new album to the sync, and verify whether it is synced.
