iTunes crashes on startup: post "high sierra" u...

I have a vexing problem with iTunes on my Mac.

When I click the iTunes icon, it bounces once or twice, and then it just quits (the dot under the icon disappears).

I have tried everything I can think of:

  • Restarted my computer
  • Renamed my iTunes library file (in case of corrupt library)
  • Renamed the entire "iTunes" folder in my Music folder
  • Deleted preferences
  • Delete (well, renamed...) the "iTunes" folder in my Library folder
  • Reinstalled iTunes

The strangest problem is, iTunes runs just fine on a different account on my machine. This leads me to believe it's a problem with my account and not with the system as a whole.

I just upgraded to High Sierra.

Are there any other files tied to the account that could be the cause? Some strange permissions garbage?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers!
