Macbook pro lockscreen wallpaper doesnt change ...

I bought a new MacBook Pro and upgraded the ram to 16gb and 512gb of storage. I don't think the specs have anything to do with my situation but I changed my desktop background to another Apple picture and I assumed that when I open my laptop again the lockscreen will have the same picture but blurry like always but it doesn't. It always comes up as the same default Apple background that the computer comes in.
