how do i remove pdfs from the list of downloada...

I updated to ios11 and lost all my current pdf schedules , only to be given a huge list of all the files stored on iCloud. I want to keep the files I need on the phone without having to delete archives from iCloud. I also do not want to scroll through every file I have on the cloud many of which have very similar names, every tine I need a current file.
