Mac pro does boot to white screen no chime

HI,

my 2010 macpro doesn't boot anymore. After switching on, a white screen appears and then nothing happens, no sounds.

there are 2 startup disks, one with Yosemity, one with Snow Leopard, so I tried alt-on, also nothing.

help!

Thanks guys for the quick responds.

The hd seems to be the problem. I took out the hd and put the external disk with CCClone in and now it does startup.

Have to find out what is wrong with the original disk, but thanks again.

Follow these steps:

Restart your Mac with the Shift button pressed.

- Shut down your Mac

- Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the Power button

- Right after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key

- Release the Shift key when you see a grey Apple sign and the progress bar below this sign

- Once you see Desktop, start a Disk Utility scan to detect and repair file system errors (don't forget to choose your main hard drive)

- Click on Verify Disc and then, if asked to fix problems, on Repair Disk

- After this, click on Verify Disk Permissions and then on Repair Disk Permissions

- After the process is finished, shut down your Mac and turn it back on after about 30 seconds

Does the Power light light?'

Do the fan spin?

Do the HD spin?

You can take the side cover off, there is not interlock

Are any lights lit on the logic board?

Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM

Dude...... it says no chime. How can he do what you are saying if there is no start up tone. RTFS.... Read the friggin screen...
